Car Alarms: 99 Cougar Laserline Alarm, laserline alarm, car alarm installation

Hi, I have a 99 Cougar that has been sorn for the past year. I just bought a new battery and fitted it today. When I connected the battery the alarm started to go off and the indicators flash, the dashboard light is on permanently and doesn't go of even if I try the touch key in the receptacle. I have tried locking and unlocking the doors both with the remote and manually.

Is there something I'm missing, please can you help?
