Car Alarms: Flasher relay for dodge dakota, alarmtek, dodge dakota

I recently purchased a flasher realy for my dodge dakota, 2004 due to my
blinkers going out, I noticed as well that my brake lights went out so I purchased
a new one but my blinkers now work but no brake lights. Does the flasher relay
have anything to do with the brake lights?
