Car Alarms: My prestige ca alarm.., valet mode, siren sound

Question
On my prestige car alarm, I noticed that after having my car sit for the summer when I tried to charge the car battery, I would have problems with my alarm going on killing the charger. Finnaly after battery was fully charged my sirens stopped working. I checked my sirens and they work perfect, could something else have messed up? THe last time I heard the sirens go off they were loud and than I couldnt hear them no more like there was not enough power? Alarm sets and opens and locks the doors but no siren sound, I tries restting and still nothing? What could be the problem?

Answer
That's normal for alarms to trigger when the power is
first applied. It appears from your expaination, that the
after market car alarm is in service mode.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area, usually to the
left of the leg drilled into a hidden away spot,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

(In valet mode, take the vehicle to a local
car alarm shop to evaluate the shock sensor
settings and if all componants are up to snuff.
Makes for a better experience.)

That should do it.
Let me know what happens.
