Car Alarms: GM Goodwrench VSS Wiring, gm goodwrench, pontiac grand prix
GM Alarm
Hi,
I'm rebuilding a 95 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (only owner). There is a wire off of the alarm that goes to the speaker/siren. The diagram on the alarm shows one (black) wire going to the siren, but where does the red wire go? Does anyone have a complete schematic? What is this alarm anyway? I've seen stuff online about VATS, passlock 1&2 etc. Very little info found. Was this an add-on option; I forget.
THANKS !!!
Steve.

Answer
Ok, you are talking about 2 different systems.
The PASSKEY/VATS fuel rail cut off system, which would
need a relay and a PLJX kit to bypass it, (see at www.gmvats.com)
and the possibilty of an after market system (siren),
that will need to be addressed and taken offline if it's
becoming a problem.

On the VATS, you will need to get the equipment to make
it go away. On the after market piece, it will likely
need to be left alone unless there is also
a starter kill relay inline. Then you would need
to extract all of that.

The VATS started with the Camaro and is still in
vehicles todat. So not an after thought or add on option.
