Car Alarms: remote start, remote start, flash 3

hey i have a question about my remote start, it was on the vehicle when i bought it so im not sure the brand, my key fob looks like a normal chevy keyless entry look and unlock at the top un those buttons theres one with a star* and one with a # the * is what starts it(it was working fine some how ive unprogrammed it) also in the windshield theres  a small little box and what looks to be a antenna with 2 small lights on each side. When i push the start button it clicks 3 times inside the vehicle and the gauges flash 3 times. Im stumped im trying to sell the vehicle and i no it will help, so help me please
