Land Rover Repair: Landrover Freelander 2.0L, landrover freelander 2, prop shaft

Hi, I owned a Landrover Freelander 2.0L Diesel manual Model year
2000. I am having problem with my rear Prop-shaft universal joint
as I have changed it three imes in the last six months and my
mechanic can't seem to find the problem. It usual makes a loud
cranking noise when you reversed, this is how I know that it is
broken again. Is there any reason for this. I really need your help.

Hi Roger,

Are you having this Freelander serviced by a LR dealer?  Strange that no one has investigated why this is happening and are only replacing the part.  Time to find another service department.

Could it be that you have an axle problem?  Problem may be in front or behind the prop shaft.  My guess is 'behind'.
