Car Alarms: Viper Alarm in 2004 Dodge Durango, 2004 dodge durango, dodge durango

Question
Just bought a 2004 Durango with a Viper Alarm/Remote Starter.
It seems to be interfering with the chip in my ignition key.
I can unlock with the key but when I start, the factory alarm will shut the engine down. The red factory alarm light keeps flashing.
If I use the remote starter, insert the key, turn to the on position, it's fine. The alarm also seems to set itself immediately upon engine off. I do not have a manual for this.
Most people I've talked to say get rid of the alarm because Viper systems have nothing but problems.

Answer
I can't help that you feel that way, but it's legally
prescribed. I have an aggreement with DEI
not to service, assist, or supply information to they're
customers past & present, and they won't sue me into
the stone age for doing it.

We do not get along as companies go, and as my opinion
of them, and they way they do business has been well documented
for the past 16 years. They have asked me to simply re direct
these questions, so I do.

It's pretty clearly stated I don't supply Viper info on
the site you asked the question from (www.CARPROTECTOR.com )
so, this is simply a courtesy explaination why I won't
help on these questions.

Please read the disclaimer about it there,
and again, not OFFERING an appology for not answering,
just a reasonable explaination as to why I won't.
