Car Alarms: AM1 to viper 9500, google search, control modules

Question
I have an AM1 installed in my car currently and it was having a problem and i was told the module was dying. i have a viper which i believe to be the 9500. i was wondering if i could just swap out the control modules and add the few various parts or if i would need to completely rewire the car? (i looked for the AM1 installation manual and could not find it to verify color codes)
