Car Alarms: 2004 Hyundai Sonata Alarm wont stop chirping, 2004 hyundai sonata, hyundai logo

Question
I have a 2.4L 2004 Hyundai Sonata. Today we had major rainfalls and I had to drive thru about 2 feet of water for a short distance and I think this may be part of the cause. What is happening is I came out to my car and my alarm was sounding "a chirp type ringing, almost like the personal alarms women carry" and the parking lights were flashing. I just bought this car about 6 months ago and this is the first time I have ever even heard my alarm before..(I didn't know there was one on this car..lol). I hit my unlock button on my remote, hopped in and drove home with everything fine. I park my car as usual, get out, hit the lock button on the remote (has hyundai logo so I am assuming this is factory installed), and start walking towards my house. Within 10 seconds of me locking the doors the alarm started to go off and parking lights flashing. Being late at night I quickly hit the unlock button, very puzzled, opened the door, started the car, shut it off, and closed the door and locked it. Same thing, 10 to 15 seconds after locking the door with the remote the alarm went off again. I went back to the car, unlocked it and was going to leave it unlocked and again about 30 seconds later I heard my doors lock, and 10 seconds later, alarm was on again..??? So then I unlocked it with the remote, climbed inside and locked all the doors manually and shut the driver door. Again 30 seconds later the car armed itself and alarm followed 10 seconds later..frustrated i went to my trunk, grabbed the pliers and disconnected the negative terminal just to shut the dang thing off. Did I blow a fuse possibly when I drove thru the water? Did I fry a sensor? Is there a quick fix to this problem? Is there a way to disable the alarm but still use the remote door unlock? any help would be much appreciated.

Answer
Water logged siren. This is problematic since it's electric
and cause a short cascade. Drain all the water from the siren bell head,
and then re attach and try again. All the alarm functions and features
should restore back to default.

Try that before all the rest.
