My son just bought a 2002 used convertible mustang.I did a car search %26 found that it came from a rent a car in Miami. It has two alarm system, the factory system checks out ok.The FCC ID# IS CWTWB1U322 which is the original ford security system.I did all the checks in the owners manual and it all checks out.On the dash there is a lead light it flashes when the car is in the off position.sometimes I can turn it off if the car is cold not after it has warmed up It dose not shut off.Well I belive that it is this system that preventing us from starting the car every try, again once the car is warmed up it starts every time as long as you press lock then unlock on the remote.Mighty cold up hear in Maine could use some ideas.and I am not going to move. Thanks Burdock.

Answer
Gotcha, let's put it into valet/service mode,
and try to reset the alarm to default mode.

This one is after market, so let's try to
look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode to see if this was corrected.

In your case, I'd leave it in valet until
you can update and replace it.

Let me know if it works for yours.
