Car Alarms: python 1400xp, jeep grand cherokee, google search

i have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee. Had the battery replaced and now the remote starter (python 1400xp) does not work. the dealer that installed it is no longer here and nobody services these anywhere close to me. What could the problem be?
