Car Alarms: 1997 Jeep Cherokee Alarm, jeep cherokee, chirp

Question
My Jeep has a MOPAR EVS II security system installed in it.  I bought it used so I don't have any kind of manual.  I have searched online and am unable to find one.  The problem I have is that the alarm sets itself automatically.  I can pull into the garage turn it off and get out and never hit the alarm activate button on the key fob and after a couple of minutes it chirps the siren and the dash led starts blinking.  If you don't hit the disable button and open the door it will set the alarm off.  This is a real problem at gas stations or when I'm changing the oil etc.  the chirp is very loud and will absolutley scare the pants off of you when you are working under the vehicle.  I would like to just disable that feature as I like having an alarm and the keyless entry.  Any and all help will be greatly appreciated as I just stopped the bleeding on my forehead while typing this request.  I am in the middle of an oil change :)

Thanks,

Eric
