Car Alarms: car alarm randomly going off, jeep grand cherokee, proper battery

Question
Last night, in the middle of the night, the alarm on our '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee started going off. We would shut it off with the remote on the key chain, but a few minutes later it would start up again. This went on for about 1/2 hour. We kept watch out the window and no one was around the car to trigger it. The only way we could get it to stop completely was to leave the car unlocked.
In addition, every few minutes, the interior lights would pop on, stay on for a few minutes, then go off. This happened multiple times during this 1/2 hour period as well.
Today....the car has been here and has been locked all day and no problem with the alarm going off. I haven't been able to sit and check the light issue. But we are really afraid of it going off in the middle of the night again! Help!

Answer
Have Jeep look at that. Cold be the conectors
and the cold weather affecting it.
However, it's more likely that
the "alarm" in this, and any other vehicle,
depends on and 5% change of the battery drain.

This means lights on, or in extreme cold, a more than
5% drain on the battery at that temp. that set it off.

It's a factory alarm and depends on the proper battery level.
Changing the battery now may help later.

An evaluation at Jeep is not out ofline though.

Good luck.
