Car Alarms: car alarm wont shut off, scion tc, 2005 scion tc

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I have a 2005 Scion tC. I was out of the country for a while, and had my roommate taking care of the car (turning the engine on/off several times a week). But last week, it wouldn't turn on, she called and asked a mechanic about it, and he said it's due to weather, and the battery needed to be jump started. So, two days ago, I got a guy from insurance to do the jumpstart. Because the battery was dead, we opened the door manually by plugging the key to the door, so we could get in and opened the hood. But after we jumpstarted it, the alarm went on. Since he said I need to let the engine on for at least 30mins after jumpstart, I stayed in the car to get the battery charged. But until this afternoon, whenever I open/close the door, turn on the engine, or step on the pedal, the alarm will go on. I went to Toyota dealer and asked them, they said Scion tC never comes with factory alarm, so they thought it's an aftermarket alarm. My friend tried to press a button on the left side while turning on the engine, but it wouldn't work. What should I do to get it off? If you got an answer, please tell me. I honestly don't know about car, and this is my first car. Thank you so much.

ANSWER: Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.
KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

I hope this solved it for you.

QUESTION: Hi, my friend and I tried what you suggested but it didn't work, thanks though. So, we took off the alarm cable from the negative cable, and it doesn't sound anymore now, except the little lights on both sides keep blinking unless we took off one of the fuses, but then if we took off that fuse, the car won't start. Right now, the thing I am doing is that when I drive the car, I put the fuse back and turn on my lights so they don't blink, but when I park my car, I took of the fuse, so they won't blink. Any suggestion on the lights blinking problem? Thanks.
