Car Alarms: Alarm clicker sends signal but car doesnt respond, valet mode, electric locks

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1994 4-Runner with an aftermarket alarm system (unsure of brand). The car no longer responds to the clicker. I had the clicker tested and it still sends an rf signal. I believe the problem started after the car went to a body shop. If I turn the ignition just short of cranking it I can turn the alarm on and off, and the light on the dash responds accordingly. It appears that all wires under the dash along the kick board are properly connected (no loose wires and all the lights work). The alarm sounds when I reconnect the battery, and shuts off using the reset toggle switch. Any ideas why the alarm won't respond to the clicker, and can I do anything to fix it? Not to sound lazy but it be nice to be able to lock/unlock my doors again without using the key.

ANSWER: May have lost programming or is in valet mode now.

Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING ENGINE.
FLIP THE TOGGLE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION,
KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

Try it and it should restore the remotes if
they have not lost they're programming.

QUESTION: Followed instructions exactly. Remote still not locking/unlocking doors. If they have lost their programming what do I do? Also, Is it possible that the body shop cut/broke/disconnected the wire from the alarm system thats connected to the electric locks (and I missed seeing it since I'm not really sure which wires I would be looking for)?

Answer
Sure it's possible the body shop
did damage the system, but hard to tell from
where I sit.

I don't have programming info, as it says on the front door
of this site. The next option is to contact a local installer
or the manufacturer for better info.
