Car Alarms: 1994 Nissan Pathfinder factory alarm, valet mode, nissan pathfinder

Question
My alarm went off the other day for no reason. Shortly after I tried starting it up and.....nothing. It was just fine 10 minutes prior. I assume it has a ignition kill switch linked to the alarm. I have tried everything that mechanics and the dealer have suggested and nothing has worked. Any help in resetting or bypassing the alarm would be very helpful. Thanks.

Answer
K but, not a factory system on your's though.

I know this from experience "factory alarms" do
not include starter kill back then.

Ok, should be fairly easy. To try to disarm it,
look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

That should solve the troubles for now.
Repeat the steps to toggle back to valet when needed.

Let me know what you discover.
