Car Alarms: Celica 2002 Alarm Problem, celica vvti, fresh one

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my factory fitted alarm in my 2002 Celica VVTi. The alarm is on but the key fob is no longer arming or disarming it, the alarm simply doesn't respond, the indicators don't even flash. I have changed the battery to a fresh one in the fob but it makes no difference. I can open the door with the key and can even start the car (so the immobiliser is being shut off by the transponder) but can't get the alarm to go off. Does anyone have any suggestions as I'm scratching my head on this one. Thank you in advance!
