Car Alarms: broken remote, valet mode, dodge stealth

I am the second owner of a '94 dodge stealth with a alarm and keyless entry made by vesco, it was installed by the dealership but I am not sure if its a factory alarm or not. My problem is that the remote that I had stopped working so now I have to keep my alarm in valet mode. I know you can purchase universal remotes that will learn from your existing remote, but since my remote is no longer working is there any way to purchase a universal remote that will work without a existing remote?
