Car Alarms: Factory alarm problem, negative battery cable, chevy 4x4

Question
I have a 2001 chevy 4x4 and i just replaced the transmission which required removing the negative battery cable because of starter removal. Since then any time I press the lock button on the key fob twice, instead of arming the system, the alarm (horn) sounds. Just wondering if I can reset it or ?????? Not real sure....HELP.....

Thanks,
John Slade

Answer
Try key in the ignition, put to the on position
just before cranking, and leave there for 11 mins until
the light in the dash goes off.

This may rest the PASSLOCK II system and allow
you to go on your way.

If not,

See the options at www.GMPASSLOCK.com to ovveride it
for good, and what's required.
