QuestionThis past winter, my Prestige car alarm was disconnected due to a malfunction and it draining my battery.
Today, my "car door lock" sound kept clicking repeatedly. (the actual locks didnt move - just the sound) Also, I heard a ticking noise coming from dashboard. Not sure why Im hearing these noises if the Prestige system was already disconnected.
Mechanic had my car the other day for fuse issue and claims he didnt do anything with remote start system. But he seems to think there is a problem with my central alarm system. Any ideas on what I can do to avoid paying a mechanic? Thanks!
AnswerI don't beleive that the Prestige was disconnected from
the explaination. May have been overriden or, they clipped
the siren, but from the sounds of
it, the alarm is still powered and is also malfuntioning.
Best solution is not the mechanic in this instance,
it's the locat car alarm/keyless entry or remote start install tech
you want to inspect it.
I can't see to do so, but all of what you wrote
leads me to that assumption.
