Car Alarms: 2003 Montana alarm, loop antenna, gm passkey

Question
I recently bought a 2003 Montana. It has a Polarstart remote starter.
I can only dis-activate the alarm by using the UNLOCK button on the Polarstart remote. I followed the procedure in the car manual (remove fuse, turn key to acc, turn spare key to unlock in lock cylinder, press horn button on GM remote, etc) to change it to :dis-activate with remote or key: but I do not hear the bips specified in the manual. I want to be able to activate/disactivale alarm with car key or Polarstart lock button remore.

Answer
Well, if you are looking to remote start this truck,
a bypass kit would have been required to do so:

IB-UGM - GM Passkey Transponder Bypass:
PONTIAC 2003- 2004 [Immobilizer Bypass]
Transponder Bypass: RF override via induction
w/ loop antenna (transponder incl. no key required)

And the door locks have to be integrated as will to turn
off the factory horn honking and headlight flashing
deternet as well.

If these were not done, and the installer did the work
half assed (which it sounds like) then it needs to be
re done correctly.

So,you will need to either address these issues yourself
(get your info and parts at: www.wirewerx.com & www.gmpasslock.COM )
or, take it to a local car alarm/remote starter technician
for inspection, repair service.

Good luck.
