Car Alarms: Alarm led, brain box, amperage

Question
I have an aftermarket alarm kit but I hate the red led and want to change it to a blue one, Is it as simple as getting a 12v blue or white led and just hooking it up too the 2 connections from the original red one or is the red one not a 12v one?

It would depend on the alarm and the amperage
it runs on. I would plug n play here.
The LED is plugged into the brain box.
Locate the same type LED and plug in the color
you want.Try that before trying to splice
in a mis matched one and it should go well.
