how do i reset a 1998 chevy blazer alarm. We have hit the inside reset button and taken the battery cables off. but it just keeps going off.

It's after market from your description.
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.
KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.
