QuestionI know that this question has probably been asked a million and one times, but I need to ask once more!
I have an 07 Silverado Classic Crew Cab (same look as the 03-06) and I am currently looking at the Scytek 5000RS-2W alarm to install into it.
What I need to know is what bypass modules/relays/etc. do I need to complete this install?
I have asked the so-called "experts" at Crutchfield and low and behold, the answer was, "I'm not certain".
Also, if you believe that this alarm is not a reliable alarm/remote start, please feel free to push me in the right direction. Reviews on it from installers/consumers give it an average 4.5 out of 5 star rating, so I figure it can't be a bad system.
Any help on these matters is greatly appreciated!
AnswerWell. I like it. I've sold the galaxy series 5000 for
6 years and very little blow back in parts
etc. Very reliable, and a good choice for this
project. Your issue now is the propper module
that can interface this to your 07' Chevy. Very important
part of this because of the complex system GM
installed in the last few years of production.
Now of course giving you the proper info, then you going
across the street to buy it because it's cheaper does not
work for me. So please excuse my trepidation to quote
prices and proper devices and accessories here.
My store backs what it sels AFTER the sale too.
So we do not price match since our tech support service
sare available all week long for the customers needs.
It's the level of service I reserve for my own
patrons that sets us apart from the Ebayer's and
discounters out there.
In any case, just a strong hint if you already
have a competitor of mine in mind.
It's a decent protection system, yes.
The other part of this equation other than techncial
service after the sale, but it has to be the CORRECT module.
The bypass module needed should also cover your door locks
and OEM alarm, as well as PASSKEY interface as this vehicle
goes throught the databus to control all functions.
