Car Alarms: 1992 acura vigor stock alarm, acura vigor, valet mode

Question
QUESTION: ok so i unlocked the drivers door of my 1992 acura vigor this morning and the horn honked just once wich was weird, but i got in it and the car will NOT start... everything turns on and i hear the click but it wont turn over. ive read a couple of your answers on here about the valet switch under the dash. but i have a 1992 acura vigor and ive looked and looked and can not for the life of me find the valet switch! can you please tell me in detail where im supposed to find it?? i depend on this car to get to work and as of now i cant.

thank you!!!

ANSWER: Well, most installers would go under and to
the left of the leg area.

Look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. Once in Valet mode,
it will allow the car to start and operate
like there was no alarm at all.

Good luck.

QUESTION: i looked all over the underside of the dash, under the left side where you said to look for the valet switch but i could not find it... is it something i would have to take the dash apart to find? also, did the 1992 vigor come stock with a starter kill? it seems like alot of people have had this problem.

ANSWER: No OEM alarm in this car.
Try the LED light in the dash.
If Code Alarm, it may be part of the LED.
(Push in, spring loaded, or if remote start,
it can be part of the antenna if one is
on the windshield.

If no joy, may want to get under there
and extract & repair.

QUESTION: ok so if this car does not have a starter kill then what do u think would be stoping it from starting? i unlocked it with the key, and like i said as soon as i did that the horn honked once. im asuming thats part of the alarm. and the little red light on the drivers door isnt blinking anymore. but if this isnt a kill start issue then do u have any suggestions on what it could be??

Answer
No sir, that's not what I wrote.
Where does it say "it does not have starter kill".
Please re read it. It says there is no STOCK alarm.

I likely does have an after market starter kill
relay inline on a forgotten car alarm system.

The black/white wire in the ignition switch is
where the installer put the starter kill relay.
Cut it out, and repair the wire.

Then toss the alarm
