Car Alarms: LED light for factory alarm. 06 GM Cobalt SS, cobalt ss, chevy cobalt

Dear Sirs, I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt, and it has the factory alarm! I was wondering where, and how to hook-up an LED indicator light so that it flashes with the indicator light that is on the instrument cluster. Also what is the voltage on this indicator light that is in the instrument cluster? I need to make sure i purchase the right resistor!  Thank You; Dan N.

Dan you will need a 12 volt LED.
(VARAD HYPER LED's/ and come in several colors)
to do this the correct way.
I don't stock them any more, but that's really
the only "stand alone" LED I am aware of.

The ones that come in alarm boxes will not
perform long, or well for that matter.
The will burn out quickly. :>(
