Car Alarms: New battery & alarm sounding, amp fuse, resident technicians

Question
I replaced the battery on my car.  When I tried to open the door to start the car, the alarm (Code Alarm PRO-1000) started sounding.  The only way to stop it was to remove the battery cables.  I bought the car used and had not been using the alarm at all.  I hoped I could turn it off using the alarm remote.  However, when I found the old remote, it did not seem to work.  I opened it up and the remote's battery was corroded, as was the small circuit board.  I still had hope it might work, so I bought a new battery for the remote.  I again tried to put the car battery cable back on, and the alarm started sounding again.  I pushed the remote disarm button, but the alarm continued to sound.  I tried to start the car with the alarm on, but it would not start.  I looked under the dash and can see the alarm and its multiple wires.  A 20 amp fuse was also near the alarm brain, so I tried to remove it.  This solved one problem - I could hook the car battery cable up, but the car would not start.  So, how can I turn off or disarm the alarm and get the car to start and operate normally?  THANKS in advance for your help, and Happy Holidays.

Answer
Hmmmm, On this one, the best thing here is
to go to my installers forum at
www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project.

I unfortunately don't know the
system you are working with to advise
you properly on it's functions,
features, or trouble shooting
information. Better to check with a tech
that might.

Good luck there.
