Auto Insurance Claims: auto accidnet claim, upper back pain, probaby

Question
I was rearended 5/2/07 on the highway and that impact sent me into the car infront of me.  I was 18-19 weeks pregnant at the time so my PCP nor my OB would do any x-rays.  I was told to come back after the baby and take advil up unitl 24 weeks then only tylenol.  after 2 visits to my OB with continued neck and upper back pain and headaches he recommended that I see a CHiropractor.  I didnt actually do it unit the following month.  I kept just hoping it would go away. Saw the Chiro routinely unitl 2 weeks before the delivery and picked it back up about 2 wees after.  last time being the end of Nov.2007.  I really thought that I was doing well and hadnt had the headaches.  But with spring here and the more active that I have become outside I am really having more and more upper back pain.  Maybe I shoulnt classify it as pain but it is just an uncomfortable feeling.  The chiro would probaby see me every day for the rest of my life if I would allow it and I dont want to just rack up a ton of bills but do not want to settle if this problem I am having is a result of the accident.  So far my bills total $1764 they are wanting to settle for $3121.  I have declined there offer and also have requested that they only communicate with me through writing.  Is it time to get an attorney?

Answer
Hi Stephanie,
The settlement offer is in line with similar offers made when all treatment has been by a chiropractor, so I don't think that an attorney could get a better offer, he would just charge 1/3 of your settlement.

It is time to see a Medical Doctor who can order CT scans and a MRI to determine your exact problems and then prescribe Physical Therapy treatment to help get your body back to normal.

All insurance companies are anti-chiropractic and in any case were the only treatment is chiropractic, in their eyes your settlement is reduced by 50%.

I hope you find this information helpful.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
