Car Alarms: 94 pathfinder alarm keeps going off., dash area, little spring

Question
I recently had to have the starter replaced on my pathfinder, the battery was disconnected for about 3 days. Now the alarm on the pathfinder goes off when ever it feels like it. Maybe not at all in a week, or maybe a couple times with in 30 min. or so. it's never the same just when it feels like it. I shut it off with the keyless entry, relock and if it feels like it, it may go off again or not. Any idea what's going on, or does the alarm need reset because the batter was disconnected for so long? Any help? Oh and sometimes when I go to get out and unlock the doors, they will relock, locking me in, and I unlock and they will relock before I can get the door open, sometimes it behaves, other times it will do it 5 or 6 times before letting me get out..I have to laugh because it's like it's haunted and doesn't want me to leave. Any help with this problem?

Answer
Alrighty, not familiar with that system but try this:

You'll need to set off the alarm for a few seconds.
then, look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried. This is override/reset.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode but in your case, I'd leave it this
way until you can have a service technician
get under there and remove/replace & repair.
DO NOT leave this system in there or your
headache will get worse.

Let me know what you discover
& if you want to upgrade to a
better, more reliable system.
