Car Alarms: compustar ADS- blade AL module, 2008 nissan altima, nissan altima

Question
I purchased a 2008 nissan altima with a push start ignition.  I had them pull the old astrostart out of my 02 Altima to reinstall into my new car.  When I went to pick it up, they told me they had to install a more expensive module, the compustar model listed above, due to the "sophisticated" ignition system on the push button ignition nissans.  My question is how is this module going to work with an astrostart remote?  Are they compatible?  Is this going to cause problems for my car?

Answer
They are not wrong. This is a different interface then
most as it goes through the High Speed Vehicle Interface
CAN controller, rather then the databus like most others.

New cars! I wish they'd stop modifying what they do, so we
don't have to modify how we get around it. Time consuming
and at times, costly.

But I digress...
  The installer is correct here.
The module needed is pricier. I can't quote the
rate for it since all shops differ,
but to simply answer you, yes, the installer does need
the part to let the remote starter "talk" to your
car's computer, and allow for seamless remote start capability
using this kind of ignition switch.

It is a unique system he's working on. I'd give hime the
benefit of the doubt on this one for doing the proper
research on the job prior to doing it.

Good job I think.
:>)

Good luck.
