Car Alarms: 2000 Celica aftermarket alarm, fcc id number, replacement options

Question
My 2000 Celica GT had the battery disconnected for a couple of weeks while the engine was replaced. Now the remote no longer works, and the dealer says that it is an aftermarket alarm, so they can't help. How do I find out what I need to do to get the remote working again? I don't even know how to find out what kind of alarm it is...

Answer
Well, step 1, take the car to an
after market car alarm/remote start,
audio shop locally for an evaluation and repair
or replacement options appointment.
Logical first step here since you have no idea
what's what.

You can also try a place like keynfob.com and
use the FCC ID number on the remote to identify it,
locate the manufacturer and maybe get some input that way.

But the first idea is the fastest,
most reasonable way to "get er done".

I hope this helps.
