Car Alarms: Intellivoice IQ Problems, keyless entry systems, dodge avenger

Question
I have a Clifford Intellivoice IQ installed on my 97 Dodge Avenger. It has been in for almost as long as I owned the car from new with no problems. Recently I got sick of not having a remote trunk release in the car and decided to wire it into the alarm to allow for this. Everything is wired correctly. When I push the #2 channel button it should pop the trunk however there is no response from the alarm and the wire lead for the trunk does not go to momentary ground like it should. I'm assuming that this feature has to be "turned on" by an installer. How would I go about doing it.

One other issue I'm having with the alarm is the Intellistart car starter that is wired into it. The wire lead for this feature from the alarm is on a constant ground regardless of the state of the alarm or when the corresponding remote button is pressed. It should be on a momentary ground only when the channel 4 button is pressed on the remote. I had to pull the fuse on this wire because the car wanted to keep running. Again I'm assuming that this can be fixed with a bit of programming on the alarm. Any ideas?
