Car Alarms: KARR ALARM, local tv station, acura tl

Question
I have recently bought an acura TL 2001 and i was sold a the KARR alarm without even wanting it because they told me that they are unable to take it off, so now im stuck with it and not happy at all because the hondas already have there own built in alarm. im thinking about going to the dealer right now and demand they take it off or work with me but i dont know how it works since its my first alarm. can you help me? is there a way they could take it off? and why did they made me pay for it if it was already installed?

Answer
You are totally correct.
They took advantage of you.

The KARR alarm is after market.
They had an outside installer install it into most
all of they're "on the lot" vehicles. If a customer
balks at the purchase of it, they either don't give the remotes
to them, or unplug the brain box. The dealer is telling
you a half truth. "They" may not be able to remove it because "They"
did not install it.

Fine, tell the Slicky Car Saleman boy, to contact the
contractor that put it in to remove it at the dealership's cost,
or you will have it removed at any local car alarm shop,
and send them a bill for the labor.

Also offer to send a copy of the whole transaction to the BBB,
the local consumer protection agency and or, the local TV station
that would love to get they're "teeth" into a car sales business
that has these kinds of sales tactics.

A little BAD PRESS goes a long way.

You know, just to cover your bases.

I simply hate when car dealers pull that crap.

Good luck.
