Car Alarms: Automate 553, kia sorento, 2003 kia sorento

Question
I have a Automate 553 installed in a 2003 Kia Sorento. Every now and then the interior dome light stops working and the alarm system does not detect the doors being opened. All other interior lights and dashboard indicate the doors are open and the dome light can be operated manually. The Kia dealer claims the Alarm system is not allowing the light to operate. The condition only occurs in the heat of the summer.
