Car Alarms: need to disable facotry alarm, plymouth grand voyager, resident technicians

Hi, I have a 99 Plymouth Grand Voyager..We locked the doors and forgot about that and tried to open it and the alarm went off.  We usually can put the key in the door and it will shut off, not this time, the only way we can get it to stop is unplug the battery.  We need this vehicle for work purposes and we dont know what to do.  Can you suggest anything?
