Car Alarms: Car Alarm Remote, fcc id number, screw head

Question
I have a 1996 Honda Civic.  If I recall correctly, my car alarm was installed by the dealer along with a Lojack as a part of a promotion.  I can't find any documentation concerning the alarm or the remote.  I'm down to one workable remote for the alarm.  The remote's battery is slowly dying, and I can't open the case to replace the battery (Screw head is stripped).  To make matters worse, the valet button under the dash board popped off, so I can't disable the alarm.  Is it possible to get a replacement remote?  I can still read the FCC ID number on the back of the remote.  In the alternate, is there a way I can use the existing remote to disable the alarm? Thanks.

Answer
One thing, remove the alarm and start over.

Patching it up is possible if you knew what you had there,
but from my experience, at your point, it's
best to extract the old one and install new
fo best overall security.

On the lojack box, it's only turned on when you
report the vehicle stolen. Usually they install these
up behind glove boxes. If there is no problem with it,
then simply leave that alone.

Wish I had more, but that seems to be the best
idea to go by on this one.
