Car Alarms: immobiliser problem, chip device, switch harness

Question
I left my lights on yesterday, so when i got back to the car the battery was dead. I got a mate down to jump start me, but the immobiliser is now doing funny things. Normally the light flashes, and i have to stick a little chip thing into a port and then the light stops flashing and i can start it. now the light is just permanently on (not flashing), and the chip doesn't change it at all. i left the car on the jumpers for about ten minutes, and it was turning, but the engine just wouldn't catch. i'm pretty sure it's the immobiliser, but not sure why... would there be a reset button or procedure or something?

Answer
Doubtful. These systems come code programmed and if powered down,
can reset, as your seems to have done.

Best bet is to locate all the wiring under the dash on the
ignition switch harness that has anything to do with
that key chip device, and remove, one by one, repairing
and re attatching as you go to finally go back to
pre installation condition. Unless done, it's likely
you'll just sit there with very little going to happen.

Sorry bout that.
