Car Alarms: factory car alarm, alarm security system, pontiac grandprix

QUESTION: I have a 1999 Pontiac GrandPrix.  The factory alarm started to sound off randomly at day or night any where from 10 minutes to 6 hours after setting the key fob lock button.  Have installed new battery and problem persists.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: It is a factory alarm issue.  The headlights flash, horn honks and security light flashes until the system is reset with the key fob. I did replace the car battery with a new one to eliminate possible battery voltage fluctuations as a cause. This is a 99 GrandPrix Se model with all options.  The intermittent self triggering of the system still persists when locked with the key fob.

That's a bit of a problem here.
Because yours is a "FACTORY" or, OEM
(original Equipment Manufacturer) "alarm/security" system,
then the disabling procedure info for any given
specific vehicle is now deamed to be too sensitive to
publish here (as suggested by ALLEXPERTS administration.!).
