Car Alarms: Car Alarm Keeps going off by itself.., 2003 chevy cavalier, chevy cavalier

Question
QUESTION: Have a question, recently the alarm in my car has been going off by itself. It's not everyday but there is no one around or anything touching it when it goes off.. What could this mean? Could my batteries in my clicker be going bad?

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Well, I can just be setting in the living room and all of a sudden the alarm goes off for no reason. Its a 2003 Chevy Cavalier. The lights will flash and horn blown until I click the Alarm button on my clicker.

Answer
Sounds as if it's "seeing" a door trigger
(dome light or rear light on) and is sounding off
to report it. Check those points to be certain
the lights go out after 1 minute.

If not, you might need to go over to Chevy for
an evaluation on the GM alarm system.
