Car Alarms: panic alarm on jeep, jeep grand cherokees, jeep question

Question
QUESTION: during the night my 99 jeep grand cherokees alarm goes off randomly and continues until the battery dies. The last itme I caught it and there was also a rumbling vibration coming from under the hood. Whats the easiest way to stop the problem. And is there anyway to lock ny doors without setting the alarm as a quick fix

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Going off as in horn honking, lights flashing. I thinking it must be factory beacuse I use the original jeep remote to stop it by hiting thr unlock  button and i havent done anything to the security system

Answer
ok, on this one, I suspect the car's
charging system/alterator or cables may be suspect.

I mean you can completely
disable the factory system, but it is one
of many componants, and will react to low
voltage like yours seems to have here.

If certain it's not the charging system/battery, as
this vehicle is 10 years old, and can easilly be
the case here, then disabling the factory alarm
can be achieved normally, by inserting the key in
the drivers door, turning left, then right
to disarm and reset it.

If no joy there (likely if damaged somehow),
you can disable it for good by doing the
following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
Factory alarm disarm requires a
463 ohm resistor to ground on the
lt.green/orange wire at the drivers
door lock switch in the door, you MUST
use a relay set up as a NEGATIVE.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the OEM alarm functions entirely.

Let me know how it goes.
