Car Alarms: 1995 Nissan 200sx auto theft problems, nissan 200sx, 1995 nissan 200sx

Question
Hi!
I hope you can help me.  I have read through several of the Q&A and tried the ones that seemed like they would apply, but so far, no luck.

I have a 1995 Nissan 200sx.  I recently left the dome light on, and drained the battery.  When we tried to jump start the car, we were able to rejuvenate the battery, but the engine refused to turn over, and the flashers come on for about thirty seconds, then turn off.

(We took the battery to a battery check place and it was fully charged, so this leads me to believe it is the auto theft device.)

I have located the toggle switch near the left leg of the driver's seat, and tried the method of key on, switch toggle, key off to no avail.

I am able to start the car by push-starting, since it is a manual transmission.  However, the entire time I am driving, the flashers flash on for thirty seconds, pause for thirty seconds, then on again, etc.  And, once I stop the car, I will need to push start it again.

When I first bought this car (used, two years ago) this happened often, but finally I got the hang of the electric key and (apparently) just kept it in valet mode.

Unfortunately, the battery for the electric fob ran out about six months ago, so I only have the regular key at this point, and have no idea how to reset the car without it.

Help?

Thank you!

Answer
Ok fine.
Piss on the old alarm. It's not doing
you any good here.

Go get some basic tools and get up under the dash,
locate the brain box attached to that valet switch
and unplug all harnesses attached.
(wire stripper/cutters-wire ties-butt connectors-black tape
drill with phillips tip & a 10 mm ratchet if needed.)

Then locate the following wires:

FIRST STARTER  black/yellow in the ignition switch harness
SECOND STARTER black/blue in the ignition switch harness
(you may find no outside wiring on this wire!
That's a good thing)

however, take out ANY outside of factory wiring
on these wires that you find there.

You will likely see a relay inline on the first
starter wire, maybe both. Cut them out of line
and repair the 2 free ends of each wire using
a yellow butt connector.

This solves your issue for now,
but leaves the car vulnerable.

Get some decent security in there as soon as
possible that works for you as opposed
to against you as it is now.

Good luck.
