Car Alarms: car alarm capabilities, inline fuse, alarm capabilities

Question
Hi, I contacted you in the past regarding a problem in disarming a Codealarm. I never was able to find the button you referred to but did find an inline fuse that seemed to do the same thing If I removed and replaced it. Same car(98 Camry), new problem. The car just died while running and would not start again. I had to have it towed home. While trying to get it going again, I ran into the same problem which I believe I have rectified again. Heres where I am at now though. At first the car would not turn over. Now it does. It is getting spark but will not start. What I need to know is before I look elsewhere, Does an alarm incapacitate anything else that would allow the car to start? computer, etc.  I know this sounds illogical but I just don't want to overlook anything in the pecking order. Thanks so much for your time....Don

Answer
Without being there, hard to say one way or another.
My take on it then would be to remove in. Just
trade up to a new alarm, with fresh remotes.

Take it out, and repair the starter wire so you can
drive it. Best way to do it at this point.

One thing here though. A car alarm will not stop a car
while in gear, or while driving. You may have
power issues that are NOT related to the alarm.

See a mechanic to be certain.
