Car Alarms: 1990 Mecury Cougar, mercury cougar, starter wire

I Have a 1990 Mercury Cougar and I Can Only Start and Shut Off my car with the command start.  When I try to start the car with the key I can turn the key and have power but it wont even attempt to start but when i use the remote it works fine

You need to re do the remote starter.
Sounds as if there is a break on the starter wire,
between the key switch and the starter.

If installed correctly, the starter wire was not
seperated, but tapped. If it was, reconnect
the starter wire ends, and tap the output
from the command start to the wire directly.
That would correct the trouble.

Again, you need to inspect and correct the system
before the key will work correctly.
