Car Alarms: remote starter, chevy avalanche, bateries

I have an Auto mate car starter for a 2004 Chevy Avalanche. I have changed the bateries and they are not working. one remote will only unlock the doors. If i dont unlock the doors with the remote the alarm goes off.
