Car Alarms: Sidewinder alarm problem, car alarm, sidewinder

Question
I rarely use my car alarm but did not completely disable it. This morning when I went to open my car the thing started shrieking and my remote would not stop it. I replaced the battery. Still nothing. I called a local alarm company and they said I have to have the car towed there to reprogram the remote. Is there anything else I can do?
