QUESTION: Once this remote starter is installed van you still start with the key as usual? Is this IB-PLJX the remote starter? Where can I access the wwires going to the GM Pass-Lock control unit? Do I have to take the tumbler out?

Answer
This is a module designed to momentarily bypass
the PASSLOCK system, allowing for remotes start.

The happy coincidence here is that instead of
the (-) negative pulse from a remote starter,
you will put this input to ground, and it will always
keep passlock disengaged.

You then would go to the hardware store
and get basic aluminum keys made.

This wiring is done in the steering column.
The instuctions that come with the
module will guide you.

No remote starter is required.
(but nice to have!)
