Car Alarms: Viper auto start, yellow button, auto start

Question
I have a viper auto start.  I have been told that when using auto start that the car battery does not charge (because the key is not inserted).  Therefore using auto start on -35 days to keep the car from freezing actually drains the battery.  Is this true?  Or is it prudent to keep using auto start in -30 to -40 weather every 3-4 hours?

Answer
Oooop! You must have
missed the big yellow button on the
ALLXPERTS site. I don't supply that
service. You have the
wrong guy here. I don't
provide support for DEI equipment or they're
clientel. Too many people have been asking
for the service they should be providing, and
I won't do they're job here any longer.

I refer these folks to either my forum
at www.installsupport.com or, I have a
guy at sales@tampacaralarms.com who might be able
to offer some insight. Good guy and he will treat
you right.

Sorry I could'nt be of more service.
