it's used to go into valet override mode.

QUESTION: I turn the ignition key to the 'on' position and press the valet button so that the led stays on (verifying the change to valet), but even in that state the starter is locked out. The battery is not dead and the alarm will arm and disarm. Is there something wrong with the alarm system? Thanks for any help you can give.
AnswerThen yes, if it will not disengage
the starter kill relay inline, I'd
say you need to have a technician
go up under the dash and tend to it.
I would start by resetting the alarm power
and then try the valet over ride procedure
again. If no Joy, you may need to pull the brain
of the alarm, have it checked, and if
need be, removed and replaced with another.
Wish I could offer more, but I would actually have to
inspect the installation and equipment before
I can say definatively what the problem is, and effect repairs.
