Car Alarms: 2000 Nissan Maxima Car Alarm, nissan maxima, nissan dealership

My alarm appears to have an issue. I used to be able to lock the car with the window down, reach in to open the door and the alarm would sound.  Now, it doesn't do that.  To top that, my car window was knocked out and my car was broken into.  When I walked back to my car, the alarm was not even on.  Can you tell me what I can do to finx this?  Thanks.

Sorry, but without first hand inspection, I
can't give a solid answer. I do suggest you
drive over to the local Nissan dealership,
and ask the service department about this
though to be sure.

Have them inspect they're system to reset any
codes, or repair the trouble so that it
acts like it's supposed to. If not, you
will be vulnerable to theft until you do.

Wish I had better news, but I'd need to see it
to affer more.
