Car Alarms: 2001 chevy malibu, chevy malibu, gm vehicle

Question
QUESTION: i try and start my car but the fuel pump dosent kick on i put anew pump, seding unit and pickup int yesterday that didnt fix the problem i have an after market remote start alarm on the car. the theft system light comes on solid for a few then goes out.can you help me with my problem. thank you

ANSWER: Ok then, from your desription and the
make/model/year of the car you have there,
it appears you've reset the VATS.

The car's security immobilizer
reader at the key switch
does not recognise the coded
chip in the ignition key any longer.

You can try to put the key
in the ignition, turn to the on position &
wait at least 10 mins like that.
(Do not turn off the key switch before
10 minutes as elapsed!)

Once done, the key is re-programmed and
should allow the fuel injectors to work again.
The car would start now if corrected.

In some cases, the VATS (GM'S VEHICLE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM)
will re learn the code this way, and will then
allow the restart, however if this does not work,
then you can simply tow it to any GM vehicle dealer
to have the service department re code it.

There is a permanent solution though.
Adding the PLJX Self learning Bypass module (59.95)
will bypass the PASSLOCK system in your vehicle
for good. See this at www.PASSLOCK2.com

Good luck I hope method 1 does the trick!

QUESTION: ok so my car has a passlock 2on it? according to the site you gave if i buy the pljx that will bypass the factory anti theft system?and fix the problem, or is it the the bypass module for the after market alarm that sounds like it would be the problem since that should be bypassing the factory theft system? is that correct? again thank you and thanks for quick response

Answer
The PLJX is designed to be used for momentarily bypassing when using a remote starter, but by happy coincidence, if you ground the input wire, wil suspend the PASSLOCK all together.

So, to answer your question, yes, this is what you
would need for your vehicle in either case, to do your
bypass the PASSLOCK & to engage the starter.
